Peer Review Process
Journal Photizo is committed to maintaining a rigorous and transparent peer review process that ensures the quality, relevance, and scholarly integrity of all published articles. Our peer review process is as follows:
1. Initial Submission and Editorial Screening
- Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team for compliance with the journal's Focus and Scope and formatting guidelines. If a manuscript does not meet these requirements, it may be returned to the author(s) for revision or rejection.
- The editorial team also performs an initial assessment for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of the submitted work.
2. Assignment of Reviewers
- If the manuscript passes the initial screening, the editor-in-chief assigns the manuscript to two or more expert reviewers in the relevant field(s) of study. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and familiarity with the subject matter of the manuscript.
- Reviewers are typically scholars with significant experience in the topic area and may be from a global pool to ensure a diverse perspective in the review process.
3. Peer Review
- The peer review process is double-blind, meaning both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other. This ensures impartiality and reduces the risk of bias.
- Reviewers are asked to assess the manuscript based on several criteria, including but not limited to:
- Originality and significance of the research
- Clarity of the argument and writing style
- Relevance to the journal’s Focus and Scope
- Methodological soundness (if applicable)
- Contribution to the field and scholarly discourse
- Proper citation and referencing of previous works
- Reviewers are encouraged to provide constructive and detailed feedback that will help the authors improve their manuscript.
4. Review Outcome
- Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the editor-in-chief will make one of the following decisions:
- Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication with no further revisions required.
- Minor Revisions: The manuscript is accepted with minor revisions. The authors are required to address specific feedback provided by the reviewers and resubmit the manuscript.
- Major Revisions: The manuscript is accepted with major revisions. The authors must revise significant portions of the manuscript based on reviewers’ feedback and resubmit it for another round of peer review.
- Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in Journal Photizo. The editor will provide a clear explanation of the reasons for rejection.
5. Resubmission and Final Decision
- If revisions are requested, authors are required to submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response to each reviewer comment, explaining how the revisions were made or providing justifications for any changes not implemented.
- Once the revised manuscript is resubmitted, it may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation. The editor-in-chief will assess the revisions and make a final decision on publication.
- The final decision will be communicated to the authors, and if the manuscript is accepted, the article will proceed to the production phase.
6. Transparency and Timeliness
- Journal Photizo strives to complete the peer review process in a timely manner, typically within 4-6 weeks from submission. However, the exact timeline may vary depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript.
- All decisions, including reviewer comments and editorial feedback, will be communicated to the authors transparently.
7. Ethical Considerations in the Peer Review Process
- All manuscripts undergo a thorough ethical review to ensure compliance with research ethics standards, including issues related to human and animal research, conflicts of interest, and plagiarism.
- Reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence their judgment, and they must adhere to the principles of fairness and objectivity in evaluating manuscripts.
This peer review process ensures that Journal Photizo maintains high academic standards and publishes research that contributes meaningfully to the fields of Christian theology, education, leadership, mission, and justice. Let me know if you need further adjustments!
